- A copy of the SES Student 2011/2012 Directory containing contact information of families who have chosen to be included. The directory connects your family with every teacher, staff member, and child/parent who provides PTSA with contact information.
- A voice and vote at PTSA meetings.
- Support of and benefits from state and national PTAs. www.pta.org
We also work hard to keep all SES parents informed of issues and events
that impact our students. We do this through this web site, email,
meetings, and the monthly newsletter.
When you join SES PTSA you automatically become a member of Washington
State PTA and National PTA. National PTA is a private, non-profit
organization founded in 1897 to enhance the education, health, safety,
and welfare of all children. With over 6 million members, it’s the
largest child advocacy volunteer organization in the U.S.A.
Do you know what your PTSA has done lately?
Last year our school raised over $35,000 during the Walk-a-Thon.
That money along with money from previous years and other small fundraisers have enabled us to do the following for our school:
- Provided $19,000 to fund Academic Goal Support
- Provided $12,000 to fund the Art Enrichment Classes
- $3,000 to fund Grade Level Experiences
- $7,500 in Teacher Grants to enrich your child’s classroom
Other accomplishments last year included:
- Threw our first ever back to school night with Discover SES!
- Made an additional $600 from our SES Whip it Up Cookbook
- Thanks to our Amazing Teachers we made $2,500 during the Winter Bazaar at our Teacher Experience Auction!
- Put on the Book Fair which enabled our Library to have $3,200 in new books!
- Staffed the Cougar Trail on Fridays in Fall and Spring
- Staffed and managed the Popcorn for ASB which will give them $800 towards their goals.
- Provided assemblies and Family Fun Nights including Winter Bazaar, Bingo Night and The Dance Man Dance Lessons and Disco Dance Party!
- Put on a Fantastic Field Day Celebration!
- Continued to grow our Watch Dog and Reading Buddy programs.
- Full Color Yearbook for the second year.
- We grew our after school Enrichment Program from 6 class options to 14 which included Guitar, Drama, Strings, Lego, Art, Ski Bus, Chess, Mad Science, Compass Adventure Clubs, Leadership Club, Photography, Hip Hop, Writer’s Clubhouse and Spanish!
With the continued support of our families old and new we can help keep these programs going and hopefully expand upon what is already here. We ask each and every family to consider becoming members of the PTSA and no matter how much you are able to contribute it is something your children will always remember.
